Who we are

The Syracuse University Outing Club, founded in 1935, is run by students of Syracuse University and the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Membership is open to the entire university community. Our purpose is to promote the enjoyment of our natural environment, and to have a lot of fun in the outdoors.

What we do

We offer trips of all types, at levels from beginner to expert. As you can see from the array of sports listed on our Activities page we are pretty much game for anything. Our main focus tends to be on rock climbing, caving, hiking and kayaking (white and flat water) We provide all the equipment and instruction you need.
