Who We Are
The Syracuse University Outing Club, founded in 1935, is run by students of Syracuse University and the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Membership is open to the entire university community. Our purpose is to promote the enjoyment of our natural environment, and to have a lot of fun in the outdoors
What We Do
We offer weekly trips in hiking, backpacking, winter mountaineering, rock and ice climbing, horizontal and vertical caving, canoeing, whitewater kayaking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, and more!
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! We offer trips for everyone, ranging from complete beginners to expert outdoorsmen. In addition, we also provide all necessary instruction and equipment that you may need (excluding personal clothing) for all of our trips.
For Spring 2017, meetings will be every Tuesday 7:30 PM in Hall of Languages Room 207.
Our base of operations is the E-Room located on South Campus. Come hang out, get outfitted for a trip, and learn new skills every Wednesday and Thursday from 7-9pm.
The primary and most active method of club communication is through our Facebook group, open to all members.
Please note that the ONLY way to get on the listserv is for you follow the above directions; signing up on our roster or writing your email down on a list at a tabling event does NOT subscribe you!
You must sign up as a member of SUOC to go on our trips! Click here to sign up for our roster.
